Constance L. Shehan, Ph.D., is Professor of Sociology and Chair of the Department of Sociology and Criminology & Law at the University of Florida. Dr. Shehan's areas of expertise include gender, families, work, aging, and health. She is a Fellow of the National Council on Family Relations. Her research and teaching focus on women's work; household labor; work and family issues; inter-generational relationships; work and mental health; and aging bodies. She is the author of Marriages and Families 2nd edition (Allyn and Bacon) and co-author of Gendering Bodies (with Sarah Crawley and Lara Foley). She also edited Through the Eyes of the Child: Revisioning Children as Active Agents of Family Life. She is the Editor of the Journal of Family Issues, published monthly by Sage Publications.
